Poker is quite old card game: it came from 19th century. It’s popularity is still growing.
This article is for new poker players, who don’t know how to start playing. It’s not about the game rules or money gathering. It’s about methodology and philosophy: how to prepare to game and become strong player in the future. You should actually know, that not only your skills, but also your environment and preparation rules – are critical for you to become a winning player. We can simply say that even folding table, which you use for your game, is important – because it’s surrounding you, makes your feelings and helps you to prepare to your game.
From the first look, poker seems to be very easy and simple game. Rules are not so difficult: anyone can play it. But it doesn’t mean that if you know rules – you’ll definitely win. Winning in poker is a mastery, and you need to spend more time on it.
Actually, people playing in poker in the same manner as they are doing in life: by being patient or rapid, by working harder or smarter than others.
Poker face as two aspects
There are two ways to become succeeding player. First way, is just to be lucky-talented actor. However it doesn’t guarantee your success. Another way is to keep in mind 2 key items: strategy and discipline.
Because your target is to become winning player, you need to learn the game and create learning plan. You need to feel yourself like in school: exercises, principles, rules, and, most important, examples – everything you need to study, learn and train. Buy books about poker, watch TVs and videos about poker players and game situations.
You need to feel yourself swimming in information pool. This will help you to become oriented in different game situations, remember previously seen tricks, and don’t be afraid going to your winning aim.
Any master poker player – is an excellent student, who knows the material and learned all homework. This is key element in your success story.
Second is a discipline. Any of your huge knowledge about poker playing and even your detailed strategy and learning plan do not guarantee that everything will be fine. Personal kinds are also important – even on higher level. You need to control yourself, you need to be patient and attentive. All your knowledge – is just an unrealized potential, if you do not follow discipline rules.
The purpose of game
The purpose of game is money. This is a very important, because it impacts how people are playing and thinking during the game. If game purpose if to be the 1st, or to be “a king” – in any type of such games your benefit is just your level, importance or honor. In poker – everything about money – something which is quite privately owned by you, which impacts your personal life. It means that people will play differently, will risk or be safe and careful. The purpose will not be only – to win or not to win. The purpose will be in creating and keeping a balance. Don’t forget about this starting your poker era.
